In 2019, the start-up expanded its circle of founders to include Hannes Klöpper (CEO), who has experience in founding companies. One year later, the team developed the HelloBetter brand, secured a seed financing round and signed a cooperation agreement with Allianz. A scientific advisory board and a practice advisory board with experts from various fields have supported the work of the experienced founding team since 2020. HelloBetter / GET.ON can look back on a body of research work spanning more than a decade: the first courses were developed as early as 2011 as part of a research project at Leuphana University Lüneburg. Ever since the GET.ON Institute began life as a university spin-off, the start-up has worked in close partnership with the BARMER health insurance fund.
To date, more than 40,000 users have completed HelloBetter courses.
Proven effectiveness
HelloBetter has been an innovation leader in the e-mental health sector for years. The online courses we offer were developed and evaluated by an interdisciplinary team of scientists from the fields of psychology, occupational medicine, health economics, computer science and design. It is testament to our high quality standards that we only offer courses that have proven to be effective in at least one clinical study that meets the quality criteria of scientific journals.
No other provider worldwide has conducted so many clinical studies on the effectiveness of its online psychological courses. The effectiveness of our online psychological courses has been assessed in over 30 randomised controlled trials that have already been published or are about to be. The results show that our online courses can be just as effective as traditional face-to-face therapy.
